Location Situated on the Vendée coast, 5 km from the fashionable seaside resort of Les Sables d’Olonne, above La Rochelle. Les Sables d`Olonne is renowned for its beautiful beaches, sailing tradition and point of departure of the Vendée Globe race which made the British sailor Ellen MacArthur so famous when she sailed into the record books in February 2001 by becoming the youngest person and fastest woman to sail around the world alone (next departure November 2012). Environment : Large site: 13.5 hectares. The park boasts 162 quality properties, the majority of which have a private swimming pool. With its long promenade, choice of wide sandy beaches and excellent quayside restaurants, it is a popular destination for a family holiday. Talmont St Hilaire. 10 km. Small town dominated by the beautiful remains of its castle, built by Richard the Lionheart. St Vincent sur Jard. 20 km. Pleasant resort with sandy beach best known for statesman Georges Clémenceau’s country house. In 1919, after the signing of the Treaty of Versailles, Clemenceau retired in Vendée. The house remains as it was on his death in 1929, with his furniture and personal effects. The remarkable gardens created in the dunes by his close friend Claude Monet were fully restored in 2006. Longeville sur Mer. 25 km. Seaside resort with village centre gathered around a church a few km from its beaches, and boasting 650 hectares of coastal forest, ideal for hiking, riding and cycling. Also at the tip of the famous Marais Poitevin (marshes) with boat rides and canoe trips during the summer.

Strolling along the shaded avenues amidst luxuriant vegetation, you will enjoy fascinating encounters with big cats, amusing interludes with monkeys, touching meetings with giraffes and enthralling sightings of reptiles, over 200 animals in natural surroundings. Golf des Olonnes, Olonne sur Mer. 8 km. 18 holes Par 72 – 6127m. An attractive course surrounded by natural undulating countryside. With water features and small valleys, this course is suitable for all players. Les Salines, Olonne sur Mer. 9 km. An extraordinary 2-hour journey on a boat through the Olonne marshes, open to the sky and to the sea, a blend of salt and land. The leisurely boat ride takes you to the Jardin des Salines to meet the salt-producers at work: discover the secret smugglers’ paths, the fitness circuit and the adventure trail. Vendée Miniature, Brétignolles sur Mer. 25 km. Discover this magical model village with its carts, crafts and trades, stone houses and watermill. The dominant feature is the village 3-metre high church and shops. You will also come across the steam engine and 600 characters which bring this typical Vendée village to life.
