Location
Ventabren is a pretty little village perched on the top of a hill and set amongst the cooler shadier pine forests west of Aix en Provence. Close to the cities of Aix en Provence and Marseille, both rich in tradition and culture. Quick access to Marseille Provence airport.
Good location for visiting the area: 15 km from Aix en Provence, 17 km from Marseille airport, 3 km from the motorway, 40 km from the Lubιron, 65 km from Arles.
Environment : Surrounded by olive groves and pine trees with view of the village of Ventabren.

Aix en Provence. 15 km. Stunningly beautiful and vibrant city, distinctively Provencal, with sunny squares filled with cafes, broad avenues lined with gigantic plane trees and tempting restaurants, and a substantial historical centre with elegant shops and attractive houses.
Marseille. 40 km. Second largest city in France, cosmopolitan and exuberant, renowned for its picturesque old port and Bouillabaisse (a tomato based soup with a multitude of different fish and shellfish).
Les Baux de Provence. 55 km. Most beautiful Provencal hill top and fortified village, in the heart of the Alpilles with brilliant view of Arles, the Camargue and the Alpilles. Officially classified and labelled as `one of the most beautiful villages in France`, it is one of the must sees in Provence.
The Alpilles. 55 km. One of the absolute `musts` in Provence. With magnificent landscapes, little mountains covered with pine and oak forests and verdant plains, it conveys an image of deepest and most authentic Provence, which has inspired so many artists from writers Alphonse Daudet and Frιdιric Mistral to Van Gogh to name just a few.

Parc Zoologique La Barben, La Barben. 20 km. Animal park. A rare and unique setting, at the heart of a 33 hectare oak tree forest, dominating the Salon de Provence region. 600 exotic animals (rhinoceros, elephants, giraffes, crocodiles...) and 120 different species live together.
Accro Passion, Salon de Provence. 25 km. Tree top adventure park, climbing. An adventure in the trees on a magnificent site of 6 hectares.
FURTHER AFIELD:
St Rιmy de Provence. 60 km. As picturesque and Provencal as can be, with narrow winding streets, shady squares, fantastically old fountains, elegant shops, art galleries and plenty of bars and restaurants. The village and surrounding countryside has inspired many artists including Van Gogh who produced more than 150 paintings of the area. Also birthplace of Nostradamus.
Arles. 65 km. Vibrant city of festivals, art and culture, with extraordinarily well-preserved Roman arena (the very same that was the scene of the Roman games in the 1st century!), backed by an equally impressive variety of other stones and monuments, both Roman and medieval. Linked with Gaugain, Van Gogh and Picasso.
Camargue. 65 km. Natural Park, around the Rhone Delta, home to bulls, wild white horses, flamingoes and with an exceptionally rich wild life. Best discovered slowly, on foot, on horseback, on a bicycle or in a boat. Bordered by 60 km of fine sand beaches, the Camargue is popular with sunbathers.
Cassis. 75 km. Chic seaside resort at the foot of the tall Cap Canaille cliff, with picturesque fishing port lined with attractive traditional pastel painted buildings and plenty of cafes and restaurants.
