Location
In Marseille, the most ancient of French towns, and one of the oldest in Europe. The city is spaced out over the bay in which it sits like an amphitheatre overlooking the Mediterranean sea, and with the most impressive of rocky highlands behind it.
Be sure to spend an afternoon around the Vieux port, and taste a famous Bouillabaisse. The rocky inlets `calanques` around the west and east of the town offer many a quiet beach with sometimes a marvellous hike or boat ride to access them.
Environment : In the quality Hauts de Mazargues residence with pretty villas, on the edge of pine forests. 10mn south of Marseille city centre.
