Situated within easy reach of Lorient, between Carnac and Larmor-Plage, Plouhinec opens out onto the Atlantic with 8 km of fine sandy beaches, ideal for all watersports and coastal walks.
Environment : On the lane leading to a supervised beach, easy access on foot or by bike (800m).
PLACES TO VISIT:
Erdeven. 10 km. Seaside resort with beautiful fine, long, sandy beaches for swimming, surfing, and all watersports, as well as a naturist beach.
Carnac. 18 km. Sought-after and lively seaside resort with excellent sandy beaches. Also renowned for its impressive prehistoric standing stones. A wide range of watersport activities are available as well as a good selection of restaurants and bars.
La Trinitι. 25 km. Sought-after seaside resort, haunt of many world famous sailors and renowned for its sailing and boating events. Its lovely quayside is dotted with numerous seafood restaurants.
Auray. 25 km. Charming little town with beautiful old quarter with delightful 15th and 16th century houses. Nearby Ste Anne dAuray is Brittanys most important place of pilgrimage drawing thousands of pilgrims and tourists from all over the world all year round but especially on July 26th for its Pardon de Ste Anne which was attended by Pope John Paul II in 1996.

Golf de Saint-Laurent, Ploemel. 15 km. Golf course. 18 holes Par 72 - 6128 metres. 9 holes Par 35 - 2705 metres. In a very pretty pine and oak tree forest, a beautiful course host to many major French events and voted one of the best 40 courses in France.
Forκt Adrιnaline, Carnac. 20 km . Tree top adventure park/Tree climbing. Come and enjoy 140 different challenges set in 5 hectares of forest.
Camors Adventure Forest, Camors. 35 km. Adventure Park/Tree climbing. Set off on an exciting adventure in this hilly, wooded and lakeside setting and try out the monkey, rope and vine bridges high up in the trees. (Adventure course takes 2.5 hours to complete.) Childrens trail with 30 workshops and youth trail with 80 workshops.
Aquarium du Golfe, Vannes. 40 km. Aquarium. 50 tanks taking you from the Morbihan Gulf to the Red Sea via the Amazon. A refreshing visit for the whole family.
FURTHER AFIELD:
Lorient. 25 km. Bustling city with wide boulevards and a vast array of stylish shops, lying on an immense natural harbour protected from the ocean by the isle of Groix. Famous for its fantastic Celtic festival held every August when all Celtic nations meet for a week of music and celebrations. Not to be missed.
Quiberon. 30 km. Stylish seaside resort with attractive beaches on the rocky peninsula of the same name. The windswept eastern side of the peninsula is popular with watersports enthusiasts whilst the sheltered main beach is lined with a variety of bars, cafes and restaurants. Boat crossings to Belle Ile.
Vannes. 40 km. Delightful and lively city with narrow cobbled streets and medieval buildings crammed around its cathedral. Outside the old walled town, the large colourful port shelters many yachts and is the point of departure for scenic boat trips to the Gulf of Morbihan islands.
Pontivy. 60 km. Quaint market town with both a Napoleonic and medieval quarter overlooked by its fabulous 15th century moated castle. Situated on the banks of the Nantes to Brest Canal, it has a lovely atmosphere and boasts a large variety of restaurants and bars. Dont miss the market every Monday morning!
