Location
Situated 20 km north east of Draguignan, Claviers is a small preserved village with a medieval church. The village is built in a semi circle and overlooks a valley where the river Riou peacefully flows past. The present village is built on a rocky spur surrounded by hills with olive groves, pine trees and green oaks.
Environment : Very peaceful country setting, 4 km from shops.
PLACES TO VISIT:
Seillans. 15 km. Delightful hill top village and one of the most beautiful villages in France. Its medieval centre with a maze of narrow cobbled streets, shaded squares and ancient fountains overlooks a wonderful countryside. The village also boasts a castle and lovely church. Home to many artists.
Fayence. 15 km. Much visited hill top fortified village, between sea and mountains and surrounded by picturesque Provencal countryside. Also renowned for its gliding centre, often considered the best in Europe.
Callian. 20 km. Small but charming medieval village with its own castle and winding streets. Starting place for many hikes and walks.
Draguignan. 20 km. Pleasant town once a military centre but now with tourist and cultural attractions. Lovely avenues lined with plane trees surround the old city. Excellent shopping and markets. Several museums.

Golf de St Endrιol, La Motte. 20 km. Golf course. 18 holes Par 72 - 6219m. In a stunning, sun-drenched natural setting, a spectacular and internationally renowned course offering splendid views over the river Endre.
Le Jardin de Cιsar et Lιonie, Le Muy. 20 km. Horse riding, Tree top adventure park. For great thrills in all security, up to 12m in height. Different trails for all abilities and a lovely way to discover the forest. Also pony and horse rides available. At Les Folies de Lιonie, there is free access to a giant playground under parents supervision.
Les Grottes de St Cιzaire, St Cιzaire sur Siagne. 35 km. Discovered in 1890 by a local farmer whilst working his land. Full of fantastic formations including draperies, stalactites and stalagmites. Spectacular underground landscapes.
Aqualand, Frιjus. 40 km. Waterpark. Fantastic waterpark with a great number of water rides for the whole family, including the largest wave pool in Europe and the huge Twin-Twister water slide. Not for the faint hearted!
FURTHER AFIELD:
St Cassien lake. 25 km. Beautiful lake with clean water and small beaches, and lovely place for windsurfing and other watersports. Ideal to cool off on a hot day!
Tourtour. 35 km. Also called the village in the sky. Medieval hilltop village with plenty of narrow streets lined with very picturesque Provencal houses.
Frιjus. 40 km. Seaside resort, ancient military port and Roman city, with a rich and impressive historical and architectural heritage. Some stunning scattered Roman remains can still be seen including one of the largest amphitheatres from Gallic times and a Roman theatre still in use for summer events.
Gorges du Verdon. 45 km. Europes largest river canyon and one of Frances greatest natural wonder with twisting narrow roads, dramatic scenery, awesome views but also lofty little villages and chapels clinging to the rocks. THE place for climbing, rafting, canyoning, kayaking...
