PLACES TO VISIT:
Les Baux-de-Provence. 35 km. Most beautiful Provencal hill top and fortified village, in the heart of the Alpilles with brilliant view of Arles, the Camargue and the Alpilles. Officially classified and labelled as `one of the most beautiful villages in France`, it is one of the “must sees” in Provence.
St Rιmy de Provence. 39 km. As picturesque and Provencal as can be, with narrow winding streets, shady squares, fantastically old fountains, elegant shops, art galleries and plenty of bars and restaurants. The village and surrounding countryside has inspired many artists including Van Gogh who produced more than 150 paintings of the area. Also birthplace of Nostradamus.
Fontvieille. 43 km Pleasant town famous for its windmill which inspired 19th century writer Alphonse Daudet, when he wrote `Letters from my Windmill` - a sort of 19th century `Year in Provence` look at the lives of everyday people in the region.
Arles. 42 km. Vibrant city of festivals, art and culture, with extraordinarily well-preserved Roman arena (the very same that was the scene of the Roman games in the 1st century!), backed by an equally impressive variety of other stones and monuments, both Roman and medieval. Linked with Gaugain, Van Gogh and Picasso.

THINGS TO DO:
La Pyramide, Istres. 2 km. Waterpark. Outdoor and indoor pool, wave pool, slides, fitness room, etc.
Indian Forest, Martigues. 12 km. Tree top adventure park. On the splendid Figuerolles estate, a total of 6 trails of different difficulties for the whole family.
Golf les Baux de Provence, Les Baux de Provence s. 31 km. Situated on a rocky plateau at 245 m it overlooks exceptional landscapes around Arles, the Camargue and the southern plains and offers breathtaking panoramas. One of the musts in Provence! In the heart of the estate, the 16 hectare picturesque 9 hole course known as `Alpilles` is situated in an exceptional position in the middle of the vines, olive trees and perfumes of Provence.
Le Village des Automates, St Cannat. 44 km. Theme park taking you to the magical world of automats. Also adventure park and petting farm.

FURTHER AFIELD:
Marseille. 50 km. Second largest city in France, cosmopolitan and exuberant, renowned for its picturesque old port and Bouillabaisse (a tomato based soup with a multitude of different fish and shellfish).
Cassis. 73 km. Chic seaside resort at the foot of the tall Cap Canaille cliff, with picturesque fishing port lined with attractive traditional pastel painted buildings and plenty of cafes and restaurants.
Aubagne. 74km. Pleasant town surrounded by hills and rocky crags, with nicely renovated old quarters. Birthplace of Marcel Pagnol of “Jean de Florette” fame.
Bandol. 98 km. Family seaside resort tucked in a cove between La Ciotat and Toulon. A vibrant harbour packed with fine shops and restaurants as well as a casino. Also renowned for its vineyards producing some of the best wines on the coast.
